Overall Opinion:
If you’re on the hunt for an awesome makeup primer, or an added boost to the appearance of your complexion, Physicians Formula Rosè All Day Serum is an excellent choice for you. The actual look of the serum gives your skin an immediate glow, and makes both your skin and makeup look gorgeous.
Unfortunately, this serum doesn’t do much to change the appearance of your actual skin—for better or worse. After weeks of using this product both morning and night, my skin looked exactly the same.
While this fails in the skin-brightening department, I think it excels as an added step in any makeup routine, and for that reason, is worth checking out!
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Physicians Formula Rosè All Day Serum is much thicker than the average face serum. It doesn’t feel like a moisturizer—it’s actually thicker than that. The texture was similar to that of a makeup primer, which this product can also act as.
Once the serum absorbed into my skin, it had a moisturizing feel to it. It didn’t leave behind any obvious residue, but I found that layering my other products on top felt virtually the same as it always does.
Overall, this was a comfortable face serum to wear both day and night!
Application
The application for Physicians Formula Rosè All Day Serum was fairly difficult, in my opinion. The instructions for application are pretty simple—apply the product to clean, dry skin. It didn’t specify whether to use it both morning and night, but I always use a serum both morning and night and chose to do so with this product, too.
The difficult aspect of this serum is the consistency of it. This is a much thicker product than the average face serum, so I found I needed twice as much product than I normally use to adequately cover my entire face.
Additionally, the serum seemed to dry as I applied it, so I had to work extremely fast to rub the product into all areas of my face.
After applying Physicians Formula Rosè All Day Serum, make sure to layer your other face products on top of it. This serum didn’t make that any more difficult than normal.
Additionally, this serum can be used as a face serum, a makeup primer, and can even be applied on top of makeup. I didn’t use it on top of my makeup, but I can attest to how nice of a job it does as a makeup primer. This wore beautifully underneath my foundation, and my makeup stayed in place all day.
Drying Time
The dry time for Physicians Formula Rosè All Day is almost immediate, which makes the actual application quite difficult.
It basically dries as you apply it, so you really only have about 10 seconds to work it into your skin.
Smell
Physicians Formula Rosè All Day has a floral fragrance to it, which is a sweet scent, but also smells very clean. It’s definitely a potent smell, so there’s no denying that this product has an odor to it.
However, once you layer your other skincare products on top of the serum, the scent goes away. I personally enjoyed how it smelled so I wouldn’t have minded if it hung around.
Immediate Results
When I first applied Physicians Formula Rosè All Day, I was blown away at how my skin looked! This is definitely a serum that adds a gorgeous glow to your complexion right away because of the formula.
This looked amazing alone or underneath makeup, so my immediate results were truly immediate because of the serum appearance.
However, I didn’t see any actual immediate results to my skin when the serum was washed off the next morning, or after a few wears of the product.
Long Term Results
I truly didn’t see any changes to my complexion with Physicians Formula Rosè All Day Serum. I was expecting my actual skin to be brighter and more hydrated, and that simply wasn’t the case.
This product does a very nice job of giving off the appearance of radiant skin, but that’s just because of how the serum looks. I didn’t see any changes to my skin when the serum was washed off.
This was a bummer for me in the skincare department, but I was impressed at this product when viewed through the lens of a makeup primer.
Price/Value
If you’re someone looking to achieve the appearance of radiant skin, or want to add a bit of glow to your makeup routine, I think Physicians Formula Rosè All Day Serum is an awesome product. As I stated above, it works very well as a makeup primer.
So in the makeup department, this is a worthwhile product to purchase, and a reasonable price for a primer, too.
However, I don’t think this changes your skin by actually brightening it, so in the serum department, I don’t think it’s worth the money.
Guarantee
Physicians Formula offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which I think is fair.
However, as is the case with most companies, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the product, so I wanted to make sure and mention that.
