Overall Opinion:
Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum is an anti-aging face serum available on third-party retailers, such as Amazon. At an affordable price point and promises to decrease skin discoloration and wrinkles, Niara Beauty seems to have crafted a winning face serum.
Unfortunately, this face serum isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. While it does an excellent job at fading sun damage and skin discoloration, it doesn’t do anything for fine lines and wrinkles, or skin congestion. It also has a pretty gross smell, and takes longer to see results than other anti-aging serums on the market.
Don’t get me wrong—there is still a lot to love about this serum, namely its ability to be worn under makeup, clear up skin discoloration, and leave your skin feeling super soft. However, there are better anti-aging face serums on the market that will deliver better skin results in a quicker timeframe, making this just okay as far as serums are concerned.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum has a very average face serum texture. It wasn’t too thick or overly thin, and with the pump applicator, it made it really easy to get the right amount of product needed to cover my face, especially since I only needed one pump to thoroughly cover my face.
Once the serum dries, it leaves behind a tightening feeling on your skin. It isn’t uncomfortable, and there isn’t a tacky residue that is normally left behind with the tightening serums, but it did make me eager to apply my moisturizer on top of it.
Application
The application for Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum is pretty easy. As I stated above, it comes with a pump applicator, which is nice to help you get the right amount of product needed (a single pump).
This serum should be used both morning and night, and applied on clean, dry skin. It also mentions in the instructions that you should use your toner beforehand, too, and wait for that to dry completely, as well.
Once the serum has dried, you can apply your other skincare products on top of it, specifically moisturizer. I don’t think you’ll forget this step because the tightening effect of the serum will have your skin ready to be moisturized.
I found that this serum was super easy to wear under my makeup, which is great, but was difficult to layer my moisturizer on top of. While the product itself didn’t feel sticky on my face, I had to work a little harder to actually rub my moisturizer in, so that was a bit more time consuming than with other face serums.
Drying Time
Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum has a quick dry time. After 15 seconds post application, the serum was completely dry and had left behind the tightening feeling on my skin.
I love serums with quick dry times because they don’t add any significant time to my already lengthy skincare routines!
Smell
I really, really hate the smell of Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum. I have no idea why, but this face serum smells identical to chlorine in a swimming pool. I actually feel like my skin smells like I just got out of the pool when I apply this… yuck!
While the smell is pretty overpowering when you initially apply it, I did find that the smell went away when I applied my other products on top of the serum (thankfully). This smell, however, was definitely something I hated about the serum.
Immediate Results
As I do with any new face serum I’m trying, I applied Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum at night first. I didn’t have any initial thoughts about the product besides the nasty smell and difficulty applying my moisturizer.
When I woke up the next morning, my skin looked the exact same, but it felt so smooth. You know those products that make you want to stroke your skin because of how soft it feels? That’s definitely the case with this face serum, which is always nice to experience!
Long Term Results
As an anti-aging face serum, I was expecting Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum to fade my age spots and sun damage, and decrease the fine lines and wrinkles I have on my face. I can definitely say that while this face serum took longer to see results than many I’ve tried, it’s definitely effective in clearing up my complexion.
After a few weeks, I noticed a major difference in my age and sun spots. They were much less visible, and it made my complexion seem more clear and airbrushed overall.
On the flip side, I didn’t see any difference with my fine lines or wrinkles. This serum didn’t seem to touch those at all, which was a let down. It also didn’t help with clearing up my skin congestion. So while I had less dark sun damage and age spots on my face, I still had pesky pimples and blackheads.
Overall, I was happy that it helped with skin discoloration but I don’t think it performs as well as other anti-aging face serums on the market.
Price/Value
At less than $18 for an ounce of product, Niara Beauty Vitamin C Serum is definitely an affordable face serum. And if you’re looking for a serum specifically to help with sun damage and age spots, this is absolutely worth the money.
However, if you’re looking for additional anti-aging benefits, such as a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles, this probably isn’t the serum for you.
After trying a bunch of anti-aging serums, I do think there are better options available at a comparable price point.
