Overall Opinion:
If you’re looking for a hydrating, acne-fighting face serum, then L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum is a great product to try. However, if you’ve come here looking for an amazing retinol product to help you achieve all your anti-aging goals, this is one to skip.
There are some obvious positives when it comes to this product. The price tag is affordable, it leaves behind little residue once absorbed, it’s odorless, and the gentle formula allows you to use it nightly right off the bat.
However, other than experiencing a nice clearing-up of my skin from unwanted acne spots in the first week of using the product, my skin remained unchanged. I didn’t see any anti-aging benefits whatsoever, which was a big disappointment.
With ‘retinol’ far down on the ingredient list, it was probably a stretch by L’Oreal Paris to consider this a retinol product at all. So in my opinion, there are better options available to you!
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum has the consistency and texture of an average face serum. When I applied it to my face, it felt very hydrating,
Once the product absorbed into my skin, it left behind little residue, making it very comfortable to wear and layer my other skincare products on top of.
Application
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum is really easy to apply. Use 2-3 drops on clean, dry skin two times a week when first using. As your skin begins to tolerate the product, you can work up to using it nightly.
I could tell after just two uses that this was a really gentle product, so I started using it nightly right away and didn’t have any dryness or skin irritation.
Drying Time
The dry time for L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum is almost immediate, which surprised me! Especially since this is pretty hydrating face serum.
Within 15 seconds or less, the product had absorbed completely into my face and neck, leaving behind almost no residue at all.
Smell
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum is mostly odorless. If you really try to detect any sort of scent, you might pick on a sterile smell.
But really, it smells clean more than anything and doesn’t have any distinct or overpowering odors.
Short Term Results
I could tell when I first applied L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum that it was going to be a gentle product, which truthfully made me a little apprehensive about how well it would work.
When I woke up the next morning, my skin complexion looked a lot better in terms of acne and congestion. I saw a big change right away in that area, and my skin felt hydrated overall.
Longer Term Results
I wish I had better news to report, but I didn’t experience any long-term results with L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum.
The initial results I achieved in terms of clearing up acne spots were really nice, and unlike many retinol products, I didn’t experience any dry skin while introducing this into my skincare routine.
However, my skin remained unchanged beyond that and no anti-aging results were achieved. Definitely disappointing for a retinol product!
Ingredients Analysis
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum contains pure retinol, which I really like to see. It can be a little dicey when you’re messing with derivatives of the ingredient, so that’s definitely a plus for this product.
However, retinol is pretty far down on the ingredient list. Like, not even in the first half of the ingredient list. That’s probably why this product is so gentle to use, but also probably why I didn’t see any real anti-aging results.
I like that Glycerin was included in the ingredient list, too. My skin tends to respond really well to that product in terms of acne prevention/clearing out my skin, which was the main result I saw while using L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum.
Overall, I think this is a nice product if you’re looking for a serum, but the ingredient list doesn’t really impress in terms of a retinol product.
Price
I think L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Serum is reasonably priced—definitely comparable to other serums on the market. When compared to other retinol products, however, it’s a total steal at $31.99.
I don’t think it’s worth the money, though. Aside from clearing out some unwanted acne, it doesn’t deliver on any of the anti-aging benefits you’d hope to see with a retinol product.
