Overall Opinion:
L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum acts more like a hydrating serum than an anti-aging one, so unless you have super dry skin, this is probably a product to skip.
The application itself is easy, but given the thick consistency of the product and moisturizer-like residue it leaves behind, it poses a different set of challenges incorporating it into your daily skincare routine.
While no immediate results were achieved, after about two weeks of religious, twice-daily use, I found my skin to be more hydrated than before using the serum. However, my fine lines, skin pigmentation, and overall dewiness of my skin complexion remained the same.
It’s not all bad when it comes to L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum, but if you’re specifically in the market for an anti-aging serum, there are much better options available that deliver those results.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum is a very thick serum. It feels more like a moisturizer than a serum, in my opinion. It actually felt like a moisturizer too when I applied it to my face and neck.
Once the serum absorbed, it left behind a very hydrated feel on my skin, and when I applied my other skincare products, they slid around on my face more so than normal because of the serum residue.
Application
To apply L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum, simply use 3-4 drops of product on clean, dry skin both morning and night. Once the product is absorbed, apply your other skincare products.
It’s hard to get out actual drops since the product is so thick, so aim for a pea-size amount.
While the application itself is easy, this serum was hard for me to incorporate into my daytime skincare routine because it made my skin greasier than normal.
Drying Time
The dry time for L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum is about 15-20 seconds. I assumed it would take longer to absorb since the product itself is so thick, but that wasn’t the case.
Smell
L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum has a slight orange scent to it. It almost reminded me of Dial soap—a clean, citrus odor.
I personally liked the smell and since it’s so minor, I don’t think anyone sensitive to perfume in products would be put off by it.
Immediate Results
I used L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum at night first, and when I woke up the next morning, I didn’t see or feel any changes in my skin.
In fact, I didn’t start to see any results until about a week into using the serum twice daily.
Long Term Results
After using L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum both morning and night for two weeks, I noticed my skin was more hydrated than before I introduced the product into my skincare routine. My problem areas for dry skin had noticeably decreased.
Other than that, however, I didn’t see any anti-aging benefits from this product. My fine lines, skin pigmentation, and overall dewiness of my complexion remained unchanged.
Price/Value
The price of L’Oreal Paris Midnight Serum is comparable to other anti-aging serums on the market, so the sticker price isn’t inappropriate given the type of product and amount of product received.
Other than moisturizing benefits, however, this didn’t give me any anti-aging benefits, so I don’t think it’s worth the money. There are plenty of better options that deliver better results at a similar price point.
Guarantee
L’Oreal Paris sells their products on third-party websites and different retailers worldwide, so return policies and other product guarantees differ from each vendor.
Make sure you check with your select retailer for that information before purchasing.
